You’ve come to the perfect location if you want to expand your vocabulary while also seeing the lovely city of Alicante and savoring the robust aromas of Spanish wine.
The Spanish language and wine tasting program is perfect for people of all ages, from children to seniors, who want to learn the language from local speakers and enjoy touring in Alicante while also sampling a variety of Spanish wines and learning about their scents.
From Monday through Friday, classes will be held in the early morning. The participants will have 4 hours of class time each day, followed by free time for city sightseeing and the wine tasting program.
Spain’s province of Alicante is located in southern Valencia on the Mediterranean Sea coast. You will appreciate many city views, however, we want to highlight the following:
- Castle of Santa Bárbara-It is situated atop the Benacantil mountain, with a view of Alicante Bay. The castle was constructed in the ninth century and belonged to the Muslims until King Alfonso X acquired control of it in 1248 when he converted it into a Christian stronghold. The Museum of the City of Alicante is located inside the castle and offers a wonderful tour through the history of the city through 10 rooms that gather significant events and topics from Alicante’s past.
- San Nicolás de Bari Procathedral-It is a Roman Catholic church that belongs to the Orihuela-Alicante diocese and is devoted to Saint Nicholas. On March 9, 1959, Pope Ivan XXIII bestowed the title of the cathedral on the church.
- Alicante Provincial Archaeological Museum (MARQ)-Visitors to the museum have the chance to learn about various archaeological methodologies and techniques. Field archaeology, urban archaeology, and underwater archaeology each have their own gallery where they are explained.
- Alicante Museum of Contemporary Art (MACA)-Alicante, Spain, is home to the Alicante Museum of Contemporary Art. It features 20th-century contemporary art. The museum was founded in 1976 courtesy of Eusebio Sempere and reopened in 2011 following a significant refurbishment. It now has three permanent collections totaling about 800 works of art.
- Basilica de Santa María-The Basilica de Santa Mara, located in Santa Cruz’s ancient quarter, is Alicante’s oldest church. On the site of a medieval mosque, the church was erected in the 13th century by Catholic kings. The church, which was built in a Gothic style initially, had a Baroque exterior and interior renovation in the 18th century.
